Where is the Heritage Corridor?
The Heritage Corridor Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) encompasses the communities and counties along the historic 97-mile Illinois and Michigan Canal National Heritage Corridor. The Heritage Corridor spans from the Chicago Portage Area just southwest of Chicago to LaSalle-Peru including the counties of Will, Grundy, LaSalle and Putnam. The region conveniently located along I-55 from Chicago to Joliet along I-80 west to LaSalle-Peru.

Holidays in Downtown Morris - "It's a Wonderful Life"

The Morris Retail Assocaition and Morris Downtown Development Partnershipkicks off the 2018 Holday season with a plethora of events in November and December.  Not only can you enjoy a parade and open houses at some of the boutique stores in this great I&M Canal Downtown, there are plenty of great places to grab a meal as well.

Grundy County Historical Society's Festival of Trees - Morris, IL

Festival of Trees - (11/23 - 11/25)
The 23rd Annual Festival of Trees is a fundrasier for the Grundy County Historical Society.  This fun event is like walking through the North Pole, has trees of all shapes and sizes will be decorated and avialbale for auction.  You might see polk-a-dot trees, trees built of bricks, and much more creativity at work.  Admission is $1, and follow the event's Facebook page for times and updates.

Lighted Holiday Parade - 11/23
Santa arrives in Downtown Morris with a fabulous lighted parade.  The parade begins on Washington Street, east of Liberty, continuing north on Liberty Street to Chapin Park.  At approximately 6pm, Chapin Park will be lit up, following by caroling, visits with Santa and free horse-drawn sleigh rides!  Before the parade, kids can make their own lantern and march in the parade (click on this Facebook link for more details).

Santa and his reindeer - Home for the Holidays - Downtown Morris, IL

Reserve breakfast with Santa at the Morris Area Public Library (8am - 11am, click the Facebook event page for more details).  From 10am to 12 noon, you can visit with Santa and his reindeer on the Grundy County Courthouse lawn!  Find out more by clicking on this Facebook event.

Midnight in Morris - (12/7)

All the members of the Morris Retail Association will be open until midnight serving drinks and treats, playing your favorite holiday tunes and having sales!  It's the perfect time to finish up all of your Christmas buying!  6pm to Midnight
